Lana was making love to her lover, Dan.  In the throws of passion, Lana lovingly looks at Dan and starts to give him a big, cushy kiss.
 
 ”What the hell are you doing?”  Dan, abruptly pushes Lana away. 
 
 Scrrreeeeccchhh.  Ouch!  What the hell was that?
 
 What was Dan doing (besides making your ears hurt?)  Dan was acting like a loser.
 
 It doesn’t matter how much money Dan makes.  It doesn’t matter he has a steady job.  It doesn’t matter how good Dan looks from the outside. 
 
 Dan is abrupt.  He’s inconsiderate.  Yet, Lana is with him anyway … doing her best to be open and loving and hoping someday Dan will be open and loving to her.
 
 (Sniff.  Handkerchief, anyone?)
 
 Oh, Lana.  Dan is such a loser.  It’s time to move on. 
 
 How can you tell if you’re with a loser?
 
 1.  He’s Abrupt 

 If he makes sharp comments or suddenly changes plans without any prep time or warning … if he’s short with you or curt or inappropriately rude, it’s likely he’s a loser. 
 
 In the throws of passion, Dan wasn’t friendly or receptive to Lana’s kiss.  His abruptness killed the moment.  “Loser.”
 
 A winner is considerate.  Winners take your feelings into consideration.
 
 2.  He’s Condescending 

 If he acts superior and talks down to you, he’s condescending.  Losers are condescending.
 
 How many times have you asked him a question and gotten your head “bitten off” for being stupid or silly or less than? 
 
 If he brags on about how amazing he is while putting you down, he’s a loser.  So lose him.

 A winner is supportive.  Winners care about you and what you’re about.

  3.  He’s Secretive 

 If he won’t answer your questions and gets mad at you for asking … (we’re not talking about nagging here, that’s different) … if he won’t answer when you ask for relevant information, it usually means he’s hiding something.  Sign of a loser.

 If you’re in a committed relationship and your guy won’t open up and tell you what he’s basically doing, beware.

 A winner is open.  Winners want to share their day, their thoughts, their plans with you.

 4.  He’s Evasive

 If he won’t answer your questions directly … if he avoids you or runs from trouble, not a good sign. 

 Sometimes it takes a while to uncover his evasiveness.  He can be so clever and funny.  But in time you realize he never really answers your questions.  Instead he twists the conversation to other topics.  Hmmm.

 A winner is straight forward.  Even if a situation isn’t pleasant, a winner will want to work through it and not run away.
 
 Don’t lose your time with losers.  Instead, go with the winners!
